How to Tame the Stress from Your Daily Life

Stress can be referred to as that feeling or the outcome of frustration. Stress occurs when things within our lives are not exactly going according to plan and we start to feel overwhelmed with problems and issues. Some persons develop stress because something went abruptly and drastically wrong, while other persons allowed stress to slowly creep up on them and by the time they realize what is happening, they are already stressed out.

A large number of the population has gone through their own version and level of stress, and it is often caused by work related and economical issues. The simplest things can lead to stress if our lives are not balanced. There are some persons who get up each day and go to work, then they come home, cook dinner and go to bed. This is their routine for maybe 5 or 6 days of the week and then on the weekend, they find themselves cleaning the house and other stressful chores. Then on Monday it’s back to work again to follow through on the same routine as the previous week.

A person with a life just like this one or remotely similar will more than likely become stressed out in a short while and that is because there is no stress-free break in that routine. When you work 5 or 6 days per week, especially if your job is considered stressful, you have to take the weekends to relax and engage in some leisure activity or another. Go out with some friends, go to dinner with your spouse, go do something fun; whatever it is that makes you happy and takes your mind off work and stress, ensure that it fits into your time budget at least once per week.

If you can afford to do it within the week, then by all means go ahead. Go out with some of your co-workers after work one day. Go see a movie or something. You need to make your routines be less monotonous otherwise stress will take over.

If you are not the type of person who likes to go out, then indulge indoors. Take a long bath with some scented candles, have a glass of wine or whatever it is that you drink. If you do not drink at all, indulge in something else that makes you happy. Try some delicious ice-cream with an exotic flavor or a nice piece of cake; just don’t go overboard.

If you are a stay at home mom and the stress is brought on by the kids and the home, then try leaving them with the grandparents for the weekend or get a sitter and go out and have fun for a few hours. Getting away and out the house is always a good move for stay at home moms, but if your circumstances prevent that, then have fun at home, let your kids take care of you for once, have them cook dinner or let them bake you some cookies or a cake.  Do whatever it takes, but you have to take a break to unwind, otherwise your spring will break and an onset of stressful times will follow.
